Who We Are

Jim Kane

Nicknames: Caballo Rojo (the Red Horse), the Kane Train, the Great White, Clydesdale

Strengths: strong swimmer, excellent preparation, good race equipment and training program, good mentally, tough as nails.  He has grit.

Weaknesses: [hyperlink a photo of “the cure”]. McDonalds, Taco Bell, bottles of wine.  He’s a large man with a large appetite (see Clydesdale) and has trouble keeping at race weight.

Russell Newell

Nicknames – Squirrel, Oxygen Water Boy

Strengths: doesn’t take too much effort to get his body race-ready, injury-free, good mental makeup – doesn’t stress about races – quick recovery.

Weaknesses – not a good planner, not organized, makes rash decisions, has three kids under the age of 5, which makes it a challenge to carve out training time.  Actually believes wearing a sweat rag from Lowes and drinking oxygen water will improve his performance and is an adequate substitute for actually running, swimming, and biking.
